Wales & West Utilities is to carry out essential gas pipe upgrade in the Station Road area of Dinas Powys.

It will take place between January 14 and February 14 and will keep gas flowing to heat homes and power businesses.

In planning the work, the gas emergency and pipeline service has liaised with Vale of Glamorgan Council and it has been agreed that throughout the scheme four-way traffic lights will be in place on Highwalls Road, at its junction with The Square and Britway Court.

Wales & West Utilities Adam Smith is project managing this work and said: “We know working on roads like this is not ideal, but it is essential to make sure we keep the gas flowing to homes and businesses in the area, and to make sure the gas network is fit for the future.

"We’ll be working as safely and as quickly as possible to make sure the work is completed in a timely fashion, while keeping inconvenience to a minimum.

“Our engineers are following all hygiene and social distancing guidelines and we would respectfully ask that you keep a 2m distance if passing our work site."
