THE Cardiff and Vale University Health Board has sent out a message to warn residents about a false social media posts making the rounds about vaccination appointments.

The health board took to Twitter to say that they had been made aware of social media posts asking people aged 60-64 to contact our booking centre to arrange vaccination appointments, and that this is not accurate.

Currently, only people in priority cohorts 1 to 4 are being asked to make contact to if they have not yet received an appointment.

People aged 60-64 will be contacted by the health board directly in due course.

The Joint Committee for Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI) priority groups are:

  •  Care Home Staff and Residents – delivered by our Mobile Vaccination Teams
  •  Frontline Health and Social Care Staff – delivered by Mass Vaccination Centre in Splott and two satellite clinics at UHW and UHL
  •  People aged 80 and over – delivered by GP Practices
  •  People aged 75-79 – delivered by GP Practices
  •  People aged 70-74 – delivered by our Mass Vaccination Centres
  •  Clinically Extremely Vulnerable/Shielding and aged 75-79 – delivered by GP Practice unless housebound
  • Clinically Extremely Vulnerable/Shielding and aged 70-74 – delivered by Mass Vaccination Centre unless housebound
  • Clinically Extremely Vulnerable/Shielding and aged under 70 – delivered by Mass Vaccination Centre unless housebound

Those who are housebound in any of the groups will have their vaccine delivered by the mobile vaccination team.
