WITH lockdown restrictions easing and shops set to reopen on April 12, many of us will be heading to our nearest high street.

It’s been a long time since we were able to buy non-essential items and a bit of retail therapy might help to lift our spirits.

So, to save your pennies for the shops, here some free places to park in the Vale:

Town Centre Car Parks

All free currently, except at the proposed Shoppers’ Car parks at Wyndham Street, Barry and Town Hall Cowbridge.

The council announced that parking charges are to be introduced at Cosmeston and Porthkerry Country Parks, Wyndham Street, Barry and Town Hall, Cowbridge when lockdown restrictions have lifted and ticket machines have been installed.

No charges are proposed for on street car parking within any of the town centres.
