Islwyn

The first Gwent seat result to be announced is Islwyn.

Ms Passmore has held the seat since 2016 with a majority of 5,106, which she has increased this time.

It has been held by Labour since 2003, when it was won from Plaid Cymru.

Caerphilly

Welsh Labour's Hefin David has held Caerphilly and increased his majority in the process.

Mr David saw off the challenge of Delyth Jewell, of Plaid Cymru, in second.

Blaenau Gwent

Alun Davies has won Blaenau Gwent for Welsh Labour with almost 50 per cent of the vote.

Mr Davies has held the seat since 2011. 

In 2016 he won with a majority of 650, increased to almost 7,000 this time around.

Monmouth

Peter Fox has won Monmouth for the Conservatives.

The previous incumbent, Nick Ramsay, originally elected as a Conservative, stood as an independent this time around but was unable to hold on to his seat.

Newport East

John Griffiths has retained the Newport East seat for Welsh Labour.

Mr Griffiths has held the seat since the foundation of the Senedd in 1999.

Newport West

It is another Welsh Labour hold in Newport.

Jayne Bryant is returned as MS for NEwport West with a majority just shy of 4,000.

Torfaen

Lynne Neagle, another member of the class of 99, has held Torfaen for Welsh Labour.

Ms Neagle has been returned as MS with a majority of more than 5,000

South Wales East

The regional vote saw two Plaid Cymru and two Conservative MSs elected.

For the Conservatives, they are Laura Anne Jones and Natasha Asghar. For Plaid Cymru, they are Delyth Jewell and Peredur Owen Griffiths.

Ms Jewell and Ms Jones were both appointed during the previous Senedd term following the deaths of their predecessors Steffan Lewis and Mohammad 'Oscar' Asghar. Ms Asghar is Mr Asghar's daughter, as well as the first-ever female BAME MS.

  • Trade Unionist and Socialist Coalition - 362
  • Ukip - 4,101

South Wales Central

Similarly to in South Wales East, the Conservatives and Plaid Cymru won two seats each.
