PENARTH'S popular Yellow Welly Treasure Hunt is making a return during the school holidays, with the chance to win great prizes and support the lifesaving work of Royal National Lifeboat Institution Penarth’s volunteers.

Around 56 shops and businesses around Penarth will each have a numbered yellow welly in their window. To take part, searchers will need to find each welly to match up the numbers and the shops on the entry form.

Caroline Eva, chair of Penarth Royal National Lifeboat Institution fundraising committee, said: "It’s great to have the Yellow Welly Treasure Hunt back this year during the school holidays. It’s a brilliant way to explore the town and possibly win some great prizes, all while raising vital funds for RNLI Penarth.

"We’re really grateful for the support from Penarth’s businesses and from everyone taking part in the treasure hunt."

£2 entry forms are available from the RNLI Shop on Penarth Seafront, and Umpa Lumpa Sweet Shop in Windsor arcade. The Treasure Hunt will run until September 1, 2021, and winners will be announced on September 5 at 3pm.

There are a variety of prizes up for grabs for the winners of the hunt. All money raised from the competition will go to Royal National Lifeboat Institution Penarth.

The Royal National Lifeboat Institution relies on public donations and legacies to maintain its rescue service, and volunteers make up ninety-five per cent of the charity. Since its founding RNLI lifeboat crews and lifeguards have saved at least 140,000 lives.
