A SELL-OUT comedy show, which will have you howling with laughter, is relaunching bigger and better than before.
Howl comedy nights were founded by Lorna Prichard, starting at Cardiff's Tramshed in 2017.
In 2018 she left her job reporting for ITV Wales and “swapped headlines for punchlines” going into stand-up comedy; Howl became a monthly event in Penarth’s Pier Pavilion in March 2019.
“It was very successful at Pier Pavilion, selling out to 120 maximum capacity most months,” said Ms Prichard.
“I always try to curate a really varied, interesting line up of comedians, and my style of MCing is warm, energetic and a little bit chaotic, which seems to go down well."
She planned to move the event to a bigger venue, with Penarth Town Council supporting the venture, then the Covid pandemic hit.
Although live events were on hold, Ms Prichard kept busy; she got caught up in a whirlwind romance with a Brazilian called Leo – they dated long distance before meeting and getting engaged within 24 hours.
“That descended into typical chaos,” laughed Ms Prichard.
“I can’t wait to share my lockdown experiences with the audience.”
And share she will – with Howl returning for a monthly Saturday night show, with Glee Club level comedians, at Paget Rooms.
“I'm so excited to be returning to Penarth,” said Ms Prichard.
“Before March 2020 it was truly one of the highlights of my month.
“The last 20 months have been so hard on us all, and we all need a laugh more than ever.
"Giving it a new home of the Paget Rooms means bigger shows with even bigger comedians, and I really hope Penarth is going to support us so I can keep coming back!”
Howl Comedy Night will return, at the new venue, from 7.30pm on Saturday November 20.

STUART GOLDSMITH (headliner)
An internationally award-winning comedian, writer, podcaster, and host. As seen on CBS’s Late Night With Conan O’Brien, Russell Howard’s Stand Up Central (Comedy Central) and As Yet Untitled (Dave).
He is also the host of hit comedy podcast, The Comedian's Comedian. With a reputation for smart, accessible stand-up, Stuart’s enthusiasm and natural charm conceal a quick wit and fearlessness.
DON BISWAS
Don Biswas is one of the gems of the circuit. A politically charged gag merchant who likes to cover a wide range of subjects including his Asian upbringing, his dyspraxia and conspiracy theories.
SARAH BRIDGEMAN
For the last decade Sarah Bridgeman has been a hit with audiences all over the UK with her warm and friendly style. She has been a weird news commentator for BBC Radio Wales, a finalist for the Welsh national comedy competition WUSA , and has written a play based on her experiences in comedy.
LORNA PRICHARD
Lorna Prichard is a comedian from North East Wales. She is also a trusted broadcaster, having appeared regularly on TV and radio for the last 12 years. She can frequently be heard on BBC Radio Wales following the success of her weekly show, ‘Summer Saturdays with Lorna Prichard’.
Since then she has been presenting in studio on a regular basis with rugby legends Jonathan Edwards and Nigel Owens, and covering for other presenters like Kiri Pritchard-McLean.
Her warm, natural manner and charm endear her to audiences of all ages. She is a gifted improviser who can keep her cool no matter what.
Following the debut of Howl at Paget Rooms it will return for a Christmas show on Saturday, December 11, with the line-up to be announced soon.
