THERE have been 700 newly reported cases of Covid in the Vale of Glamorgan according to Public Health Wales.

Public Health Wales’ latest statistics includes the number of newly reported cases of Covid for a 48-hour period up to 9am on December 29. The number of deaths reported today is for a 24-hour period.

According to the Public Health Wales data there are 19,160 newly reported cases in Wales, with 700 of these within the Vale of Glamorgan and 2,079 in Cardiff.  

They have also reported 1,891 cases for residents outside Wales, bringing their cumulative total for the 48-hour period to 21,051.

Three Covid-related deaths have been included in Public Health Wales’ data – two which occurred within the Aneurin Bevan University Health Board and one in Swansea Bay University Health Board.

Public Health Wales’ death toll throughout the entire Covid pandemic now stands at 6,556 – with 894 of these reportedly within Cardiff and Vale University Health Board.
