A NUMBER of people from Penarth ended their 2021 or started 2022 with a speeding fine.

Here we round up the festive fines for those from or who were caught speeding in Penarth and surrounding areas.

Ashleigh Peter Lockhart, 25, of Laura Street, Barry, appeared at Cardiff Magistrates Court on January 4 where he pleaded guilty to speeding.

It related to an offence on July 3 where he was caught doing 40mph on the 30mph B4267 Lavernock Road in Penarth. He was fined £92 and given three points on his licence. He was also ordered to pay a £34 surcharge and £90 costs.

Geraint Huw Jones, 42, of Cornerswell Road, Penarth, appeared at Brighton Magistrates Court on December 16 where he pleaded guilty to speeding.

It related to an offence on May 19 where he was caught doing more than 70mph on the A23 dual carriageway. He was fined £344 and given three points on his licence. He also had to pay £34 surcharge and £90 costs.

Naree Dowdell, 35, of John Batchelor Way, Penarth appeared at Cardiff Magistrates Court on December 21 where she pleaded guilty to speeding.

It related to an offence on June 28 where she was caught doing 36mph on the 30mph Greenway Road. She was fined £146 and given three points on her licence. She was also ordered to pay £34 surcharge and £90 costs.
