THE latest figures from Public Health Wales show that there have been 14 more deaths in Wales.

This means that 6,668 people have died since the beginning of the pandemic, according to PHW Data.

There have been no deaths in the Cardiff and Vale University Health Board area, meaning the death toll stands at 902.

The Vale of Glamorgan has recorded 107 new cases of Covid.

Cardiff has the most amount of new cases in Wales with 419 and also has the highest case rate.

There are 114.4 cases per 100,000 people in the Welsh capital, with the average for Wales at 87.2.

In the Vale, the case rate is 80.1 cases per 100,000 people.

Cases may appear lower than usual due to a change in rules from January 6 that means people who receive a positive lateral flow test do not have to take a PCR test.

As the PHW daily stats are based on PCR tests, this means reported cases on the stats may be lower.

All data is correct from 9am on January 11.
