RNLI Penarth crews saved a stranded fishing boat on Sunday afternoon.
The boat had broken down near the entrance to the Rhymney River and needed rescuing.
RNLI Penarth sent out their B-Class Atlantic 85 lifeboat, the Maureen Lilian, just before 4pm on Sunday, January 16 to lend a hand and resolve the incident.
After assessing the situation, the lifeboat crew decided to try to tow the fishing boat back.
They were successful and brought the fishing boat back in to its mooring.
The B-Class Atlantic 85 is a Rigid Inflatable Lifeboat (RIB) and is one of the fastest lifeboats in the RNLI.
It is 8.5 metres long and was developed at Atlantic College in the Vale of Glamorgan.
If you find yourself in trouble at sea or near the coast, call 999 or 112 and ask for the coastguard.
Based on the situation, the coastguard will make the deciision whether or not the RNLI need to send a lifeboat to lend assistance.
