PUBLIC Health Wales has reported 23 new Covid-related deaths today – including three in Cardiff and the Vale University Health Board.

The latest data from Public Health Wales suggests that there are 2,062 newly reported cases of Covid in Wales (and 74 ‘residents outside Wales’) and reports 23 Covid deaths.

Three of these deaths, according to Public Health Wales, were in Cardiff and Vale University Health Board (UHB). Thirteen deaths have been reported in Betsi Cadwaladr UHB, four in Swansea Bay UHB, two in Hywel Dda UHB, and one in Cwm Taf Morgannwg.

This brings Public Health Wales’ death toll throughout the entire Covid pandemic to 6,731 which includes 18 residents outside Wales.

Of the 2,163 newly reported cases included in the latest Public Health Wales statistics, 81 were reported in the Vale of Glamorgan and 308 were reported in Cardiff.

Based on their data, throughout the whole coronavirus pandemic, 30,943 cases of Covid have been reported in the Vale of Glamorgan and 86,787 in Cardiff.
