PUBLIC Health Wales have released new data showing that the Vale of Glamorgan have almost 140 new cases of Covid.

There are 137 new cases in the Vale and 412 cases in nearby Cardiff.

In Wales there are 2,707 new cases including residents outside of Wales.

The case rate in the Vale is comparatively high, with 102.6 cases per 100,000 people - the sixth highest in Wales.

Similarly, Cardiff also has a higher than average case rate with 112.3 cases per 100,000 people.

The average case rate for Wales is 84.1.

There have been four more deaths in all of Wales taking the toll to 6,788.

None of the new deaths occurred in the Cardiff and Vale area.
