THE latest from Public Health Wales shows that there are almost 100 new Covid cases in the Vale of Glamorgan.

98 cases have been reported for the Vale in the newest set of figures released.

Cardiff have recorded 316 new cases.

Both areas have more new cases than the previous day.

Wales has 1,870 new cases including residents outside of Wales.

The case rate for both the Vale and Cardiff is higher than the average for Wales.

The average case rate for Wales is 57 cases per 100,000 people.

The rate for the Vale is 73.4 and the rate for Cardiff is 86.1.

There have been 10 new deaths in Wales, taking the toll to 6,833.

None of the new deaths occurred in the Cardiff and Vale area, which means the toll for the area stands at 912.
