SIX people have appeared in court relating to speeding offences in the Vale.

The offences were either committed by people living in the Vale of Glamorgan – whether they occurred in the Vale or outside – or by people from outside the area who committed the offences here.

Sai Mani Suraj Kondepudi, 25, of Howard Road, Leicester, pleaded guilty to speeding at Cardiff Magistrates Court on Tuesday, February 8.

It related to an offence on Tuesday, June 8, when he was caught doing 39mph on the B4267 Lavernock Road in Penarth, where the limit is 30mph. He was fined £40 and given three points on his licence. He also had to pay a £34 surcharge and £90 costs.

Anthony Paul Coleman, 52, of Hayes Road, Sully, pleaded guilty to speeding at Lavender Hill Magistrates Court in London on Tuesday, February 8.

It related to an offence on Thursday, July 15, where he was caught doing 57mph on the A406 in North Finchley, where the limit is 50mph. He was fined £40 and given three points on his licence. He also had to pay a £34 surcharge and £90 costs.

Jillian Davey, 70, of Marconi Avenue, Penarth, was found guilty of speeding at Cardiff Magistrates Court on Thursday, February 10.

It related to an offence on Thursday, July 15, where she was caught doing 36mph on North Road at the junction to College Road, where the limit is 30mph.

She was fined £220 and given three points on her licence. She also had to pay a £34 surcharge and £90 costs.

Craig O’Shea, 49, of Paget Road, Barry, was sentenced at Cardiff Magistrates Court for a speeding offence. He was previously found guilty on Friday, January 14.

It related to an offence on Thursday, July 8, where he was caught doing 38mph on Plymouth Road, where the limit is 30mph. He was fined £220 and disqualified from driving for six months. He also had to pay a £34 surcharge and £90 costs.

Mark Alaszewski, 47, of Earl Road, Penarth, pleaded guilty to a speeding offence at Llanelli Magistrates Court on Tuesday, February 15.

It related to an offence on Saturday, August 21, where he was caught doing 35mph on the A479 Talgarth near Powys, where the limit is 30mph. He was fined £66 and given three points on his licence. He also had to pay a £34 surcharge and £90 costs.

Gareth Malcolm Lewis Baker, 29, of Greenfield Avenue, Dinas Powys, was found guilty of speeding at Cardiff Magistrates Court on Thursday, February 10.

It related to an offence on Saurday, July 24, where he was caught doing 57mph on the M4 near Port Talbot, where the limit is 50mph. He was fined £220 and given three points on his licence. He also had to pay a £34 surcharge and £90 costs.
