FOUR people appeared in court for offences committed in the Vale in the past week.

These appearances in court relate for the period between February 12-18.

Jason Anthony Ham, 37, of Havannah Street, Cardiff Bay, appeared at Cardiff Magistrates Court on Monday, February 14, where he pleaded guilty to assault by beating.

It related to an incident in Barry on Monday, December 27. He was fined £403 and ordered to pay £34 surcharge and £85 costs.

Tyler Lewis Occhiochiuso, 19, of Spencer Street, Barry, has a warrant out for his arrest without bail after he failed to answer his bail conditions.

He pleaded guilty on Saturday, December 18, to driving without insurance and driving whilst disqualified – with both offences being committed on Monday, September 13.

Beth Emma Ward, 40, of Fitzhamon Avenue, Llantwit Major, appeared at Newport Magistrates Court on Tuesday, February 15, and pleaded guilty to failing to provide a specimen for a breath test.

It related to an offence on Monday, January 14, when she was suspected of driving while under the influence and failed to provide a specimen while at Caerphilly station for no valid reason. She was fined £300 and ordered to complete a community order. She was also disqualified from driving for three years and had to pay £34 surcharge and £85 costs.

Claire Marie Toozer, 47, of Northcote Terrace, Barry, appeared at Cardiff Magistrates Court on Monday, February 14 for sentencing for sending offensive images or content. She previously pleaded guilty on Friday, November 19.

It related to an offence on Thursday, September 23 where she sent text messages with offensive content which was intended to cause anxiety to the recipient. She was fined £120 and ordered to complete a community order. She also had to pay £95 surcharge and £85 costs.
