THE St David's Day celebrations were in full swing on March 1 - with plenty of schools in Penarth getting involved in the fun.

At Cogan Primary School, on Pill Street, youngsters took part in Welsh activities across the school throughout the day.

Pupils also had a two venue assembly, which was linked via Teams in the school halls - it was complete with storytelling, singing, and competition announcements.

Meanwhile, Fairfield Primary School, on Dryden Road, celebrated St David's Day with lots of cultural singing, poetry, art and music.

Children entered Eisteddfod competitions, with the winners announced in a morning assembly, along with the announcement of this year's Bard.

Class celebrations were shared through online classrooms for parents to enjoy with their children at home.

And the school choir from St Joseph's RC Primary School, on Sully Road, performed Welsh songs at Tesco in Penarth Marina.
