EIGHT people have been fined for speeding offences in the Vale in the past two weeks.

The offences either took place by people in the Vale or in the Vale by people living outside.

Tracey Francis, 57, of Masefield Road, Penarth, pleaded guilty to speeding at Cardiff Magistrates Court on March 1.

She was caught doing 36mph on the 30mph Boverton Road on August 24. She was fined £66 and given three points on her licence. She also had to pay a £34 surcharge.

Stephen Davies, 66, of Shelley Crescent, Barry, pleaded guilty to speeding at Cardiff Magistrates Court on March 1.

He was caught doing 35mph on the 30mph Westbourne Road on August 15. He was fined £66 and given three points on his licence. He also had to pay a £34 surcharge.

Lee Anthony Griffiths, 53, of Pendine Close, Barry, was found guilty of speeding at Cardiff Magistrates Court on March 1.

He was caught doing 57mph on the 50mph M4 at Port Talbot on August 22. He was fined £220 and given three points on his licence. He also had to pay a £34 surcharge and £90 costs.

Anish Malhotra, 53, of Monks Drive, Ealing, pleaded guilty to speeding at Cardiff Magistrates Court on February 21.

He was caught doing 41mph on the 30mph A48 St Nicholas in the Vale of Glamorgan on August 15. He was fined £66 and given four points on his licence. He also had to pay a £34 surcharge.

Saira Hasan, 20, of Station Street, Barry, was found guilty of speeding at Cardiff Magistrates Court on February 28.

She was caught doing 45mph on the 30mph North Road on August 21. She was fined £440 and given five points on her licence. She also had to pay a £44 surcharge and £90 costs.

Kate Louise Beechey, 43, of Straddling Place, Llantwit Major, was found guilty of speeding by Cardiff Magistrates Court on February 21.

She was caught doing 36mph on the 30mph Pentwyn Road on August 12. She was fined £220 and given three points on her licence. She also had to pay a £34 surcharge and £90 costs.

Lisa Marie Cooper, 45, of Margaret Avenue, Barry, pleaded guilty to speeding at Cardiff Magistrates Court on March 1.

She was caught doing 35mph on the 30mph Cowbridge Road West on August 13. She was fined £40 and given three points on her licence. She also had to pay a £34 surcharge and £90 costs.

Michelle Louise Harris, 40, of Caernarvon Close, Dinas Powys, pleaded guilty to speeding at Cardiff Magistrates Court on March 1.

She was caught doing 40mph on the 30mph Newport Road, Rumney Hill on August 12. She was fined £40 and given three points on her licence. She also had to pay a £34 surcharge and £90 costs.
