THERE has been another Covid death recorded in the Cardiff and Vale area by Public Health Wales.

This takes the toll for the area to 923 deaths since the start of the pandemic.

Including this new death, there have been two deaths in all of Wales taking the overall death toll to 7,017.

There are 52 new cases in the Vale of Glamorgan and 137 new cases in nearby Cardiff.

In Wales there are 1,023 new cases in total including residents outside Wales.

The case rate in both the Vale and Cardiff is above the average case rate for Wales, which is 31.9 cases per 100,000 people.

The case rate in the Vale is 38.9 and the case rate in Cardiff is 37.3
