AS THE conflict in Ukraine continues following the Russian invasion, so does the support being offered by people across the Vale of Glamorgan.
All over Wales, people brought supplies to drop-off points, including Awesome.Wales in Barry and Coffee #1 in Penarth among many others, to be sent to Ukrainian refugees who have fled to neighbouring countries.
Across the country we’ve heard tales of people raising money to help those impacted, or even driving supplies to countries such as Poland, Slovakia, and Hungary where families have escaped the horror unfolding in Ukraine. And many have suggested they will open their homes to people who have fled from Ukraine.
The daughter of a family, living in Penarth, has stayed in Kharkiv where she is working as a paramedic with an ambulance. No doubt that there are many other stories of bravery among the horror of this war.
We are highlighting all these generous acts of humanity as Newsquest – our parent company - launches a national appeal to raise money for the Red Cross during this international crisis.
We’re asking you to join us.
All money raised will go immediately to the British Red Cross Society DEC Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal. The British Red Cross is involved in humanitarian work in Ukraine, helping the civilians who have been affected by the ongoing crisis.
