TWO more deaths have been recorded in the Cardiff and Vale area as Public Health Wales release the latest Covid stats.

This means that 934 people have died in the area since the beginning of the pandemic.

Including the two deaths, there have been 10 deaths in all of Wales putting the death toll to 7,172.

The case rates for both the Vale and Cardiff have dropped below the average for all of Wales, which is 44 cases per 100,000 people.

The Vale of Glamorgan has a slightly lower case rate than this (42.7), but Cardiff has a much lower rate at 32.2.

This may have been affected by the closure of PCR testing sites at 5pm yesterday.

All PCR testing sites in Wales have now closed, a move which will likely affect daily reporting of Covid stats.

Including the residents outside of Wales, there are 1,438 new cases in Wales.

In the Vale, 57 new cases have been reported and there are 118 in Cardiff.
