SIX speeding drivers from the Penarth area have appeared in court where they were fined more than £1,000 between them.

Neil Michael Walsh, 50 of David Street, Cowbridge, admitted speeding at Llanelli Magistrates Court on April 12.

He was caught doing 35mph on A476 Gorslas where the limit is 30mph. He was fined £138 and given three points on his licence. He also had to pay £34 surcharge and £90 costs.

Dermott McCaul, 58 of Cosmeston Drive, Penarth, admitted speeding at Cardiff Magistrates Court on April 5.

He was caught doing 46mph on September 21 where the limit is 40mph. He was fined £161 and given three points on his licence. He also had to pay £34 surcharge and £90 costs.

Sarah Jane Taylor, 41 of St David’s Crescent, Penarth, was found guilty of speeding by Cardiff Magistrates Court on March 28.

She was caught doing 36mph on Greenway Road on September 17 where the limit is 30mph. She was fined £220 and given three points on her licence. She also had to pay £34 surcharge and £90 costs.

Huw Phillip Evans, 45 of Colwinston, Cowbridge, admitted speeding at Cardiff Magistrates Court on April 12.

He was caught doing 47mph on A48 Brocastle on September 29. The limit for the road is 40mph. He was fined £230 and given three points on his licence. He also had to pay £34 surcharge and £90 costs.

Bryn Walters, 46 of Westbourne Road, Penarth, admitted speeding at Llanelli Magistrates Court on March 2. He was given his sentence on April 6.

He was caught doing 41mph on A476 Gorslas on August 27. The limit for the road is 30mph. He was fined £615 and banned from driving for 28 days. He also had to pay £62 surcharge and £110 costs.

Jamie Payne, 49 of Llwyn Passat, Penarth, admitted speeding at Cardiff Magistrates Court on April 5.

He was caught doing 51mph on A4119 junction with School Road on April 16, 2021. The limit for the road is 40mph. He was fined £146 and given three points on his licence. He also had to pay £34 surcharge and £90 costs.
