GRIFFIN Books is hosting an evening with two renowned crime writers next week.

Crime authors Sarah Pearse and Beverley Jones will be appearing at All Saints Church at 7.30pm on Wednesday, July 20.

The authors will be interviewed by Cardiff-based novelist and poet, Katherine Stansfield.

Ms Pearse is a South Devon based writer and her first novel, The Sanatorium, was the bestselling crime thriller debut of 2021.

The book was number one on the Sunday Times bestseller list, spent six weeks on the New York Times bestseller list, and was a Reese Witherspoon Book Club pick.

There were also rave reviews from the likes of Richard Osman, Lucy Foley and A J Finn.

Ms Pearse will be talking about her upcoming novel, The Retreat.

Ms Jones is an former journalist and press officer and media manager for South Wales Police.

She took part in criminal investigations, security operations, counter terrorism and emergency planning and has channeled these experiences into her new writing career.

Her new novel, The Beach House, has been tipped as one the 'Best Thrillers to Read in 2022' by The Evening Standard.

Her novel Wilderness has recently been optioned by Firebird Pictures for development into a six-part TV series by Amazon Prime, due to air in 2023.
