GRIFFIN Books is welcoming three locally-based writers for a ‘Summer Reads’ party.

This year the party is being held at the shop in Windsor Road on Friday, July 29.

Authors Laura Kemp, Evonne Wareham and Helga Jensen will appear at the event and talk through their latest books.

Laura Kemp is a former journalist who lives and works in Penarth.

She writes romantic fiction based in Wales which has been described as funny, feel-good, but real.

Evonne Wareham specialises in romantic suspense – romance novels from her feature more dead bodies and crime than one would expect.

Born in Barry, Ms Wareham sets her books in Wales or her favourite holiday destinations.

Helga Jensen is a British/Danish author who won the 2017 Montegrappa First Fiction competition at Dubai's Emirates Literary Festival with her debut novel.

They will also be talking to local travel coordinator Jo Baldwin and sharing some of their own staff recommendations for the ultimate summer read.

Those attending the event will be able to chat to the authors, buy books and have them signed all while enjoying a complimentary glass of prosecco.

The event begins at 6.30pm and concludes at 8pm.

Tickets cost £5 and can be bought from: ticketsource.co.uk/griffinbooks or through the shop on 02920 706455 or info@griffinbooks.co.uk
