IT HAS been a busy time for volunteer crews at RNLI Penarth.

As well as getting involved with the Summer Festival on July 16, crews were involved in two separate incidents.

On Friday, July 15, the Atlantic 85 lifeboat was launched to rescue two people near Lavernock Point.

The two people were in a kayak, but required assistance.

The Atlantic 85 boat was able to rescue the two people involved and take them and their kayak back to dry land in Sully.

On Saturday, July 16, the D-class lifeboat was launched to assist police in the search for a missing person in the Rhymney River area.

Luckily, the police were able to find the missing person and the lifeboat returned to the station.

Finally, on Saturday, July 16, the volunteer crews opened up the station for the water safety team and the Coastguard to give talks on water safety during the Summer Festival.
