THE Vale of Glamorgan Council has published a list of services that will be affected during the Queen's funeral.

The funeral, which has been declared as a bank holiday, takes place on Monday, September 19, and a number of services will not be running.

Recycling and waste collections will be suspended, and collection dates have been pushed back by one day.

Therefore, residents are being asked to put their bins out the day after they normally would have been collected for that week.

It will be no use taking rubbish to your local Household Waste Recycling Centre, as they will all be closed on the bank holiday.

All Vale Council buildings will be shut, including libraries, leisure centres and adult learning centres.

Penarth Pier Cafe, which is owned by the council, will be closed.

Court Road car park will be closed, but parking will be available on Wyndham Street.

Despite almost everything being closed, parks and public toilets will remain open, but be warned - bins and toilets will not be cleaned on September 19.

As all schools in the Vale will be shut on September 19, it would be pointless to carry on running school buses on that day, so the council have cancelled them.

On the point of transport however, a number of services have been cancelled or altered.

Adventure Travel will be running a Sunday service provision for Services 100, 303 and 304 and there will be no service provision for Services 88, 89A, 89B, 320, 321 or B3.

Adventure travel will be running Service 905 in line with Transport for Wales (TfW) rail service to Rhoose Station (Cardiff Airport).

Cardiff Bus will also be running a Sunday service provision for Services 92, 94, 95, 96 and 96A and will not be running Services 7, 92B, 93, 93S, 97, 97A, 98 or 99.

First Cymru will be providing a bank holiday timetable for Service X2.

Throughout the mourning period, TfW will be and has been offering their normal timetable for trains.

However on the bank holiday Monday, TfW will not be applying peak time ticket restrictions.

The C1V council contact service will not be open during the bank holiday, but out of hours contacts will be available in the case of an emergency.
