ONE thousand pounds of cash and over 100 grammes of cannabis were found on the men who were caught in Dinas Powys during the week.

On Monday, February 6, South Wales Police tweeted that Community Support Officers (PCSOs) had come across men smoking cannabis in a car in Dinas.

It’s now been revealed the three men were arrested along Twyncyn, off St Andrews and Britway Road at 7.30pm on February 5.

A carrier bag containing approximately 154 grammes of cannabis was recovered along with weighing scales.

The bust comes as some residents in Dinas Powys have said how the area has "gone to the dogs".

An emergency meeting was held between residents and the PCSO for the area Samuel Martin.

One woman described the drug problem being so bad that when she lets her chickens out they become stoned.

On the cannabis bust along Twyncyn, a spokesperson for South Wales Police said: "Police community support officers patrolling the Dinas Powys area came across men smoking cannabis in a vehicle.

"Traffic officer attended, positive drug swipe on the driver. Males have been arrested for possession of a controlled drug with intent to supply.

"Phones and a quantity of cash were seized and substantial amounts of cannabis were also seized."

All three men were released on bail pending further enquiries.
