A FREE festival celebrating everything Welsh is coming back to the Vale of Glamorgan, and the line-up of singers has been announced.
Gwyl Fach y Fro is an annual festival celebrating the Welsh language, culture and music.
The line-up of local and well known Welsh bands and performers for this year’s festival include Dagrau Tan, who are currently in year 10 at Ysgol Bro Morgannwg in Barry and have been regular performers at the festival for a number of years.
There's also singer Angharad Rhiannon, who is also a presenter on Bro Radio and will be performing at Gwyl Fach y Fro for the first time.
Hana Lili from Sully will be there with her band, and will be singing a duet Cynbohir with headlining band Gwilym, from north Wales.
New to the festival this year will be reggae performer N’Famady Kouyate, rappers Dom James and Lloyd Lewis, and Cardiff singer Parisa Fouladi.
Popular Welsh bands Los Blancos and Tara Bandito will also be on the promenade.
The festival attracted more than 8,000 visitors in 2022

The free event takes place at the Promenade on Barry Island on Saturday May 20.
In 2022 Gwyl Fach y Fro attracted over 8,000 visitors.
Festival organiser Michael Goode, from Menter Bro Morgannwg, said it looked liek it was going to be a great year for the festival.
“We have put together a strong line-up of popular Welsh musicians and performers offering a wide range of musical styles from pop, reggae, rap and rock throughout the day,” said Mr Goode.
“We also have contemporary dance company Qwerin, street theatre from the hilarious Kitsch n Sync, as well as local schools & community choirs performing on the Glanfa Gwynfor stage at the bandstand.”

The festival receives funding from the Arts Council of Wales, the National Lottery’s Community Fund and the Vale of Glamorgan Council.
Some of the funding is going towards a deckchairs project at Ysgol Bro Morgannwg, Penarth, with artist Haf Weighton, and the creation of colourful bunting from local schools and youth clubs with textile artist Nia Clements.
