VANDALS smashed up wooden tables and tampered with gardening equipment at an iconic Vale venue, police say.

The 200-year-old stately home Kymin was recently broken into.

The ladies’ toilets had been accessed and inside wooden tables had been smashed up and gardening equipment tampered with.

On Beach Road, in Penarth, while Kymin House is not listed, it is identified by Vale Council as a “county treasure”.

The original two-storey house was built circa 1800. The main building consists of two storeys, comprising a kitchen and cloakrooms together with a number of rooms previously used as offices.
