A MEMBER of the Royal Household is visiting the Vale, today.

Her Royal Highness Princess Anne is visiting the Citizens Advice Bureaux at 119 Broad Street, Barry.

While there, the Princess will embark on a tour of the building and unveil a plaque to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the advice delivery centre.

As patron of the National Association of Citizens Advice Bureaux, Her Royal Highness opened the offices in 1993.

Since Her Highness opened the office, it has expanded operations and become a leading employer in the advice sector in South Wales – and the fourth largest local Citizens Advice in the network.

The centre operates a number of bespoke advice services in partnership with other national charities, including the Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity – where it offers benefits advice to the families of seriously ill children and young people.

It also works with the Motor Neurone Disease Association, offering benefits advice to individuals and the families of those affected by motor neurone disease.

The centre also partners with a number of other specialist organisations, such as Save the Children, Race Council Cymru, Atal y Fro, Shelter Cymru, and offers a host of training courses which it delivers to other local Citizens Advice, third sector and government departments.
