IT’S the ten-year anniversary of GlastonBARRY and event organisers say to celebrate, it’s going to be the biggest and best festival yet!

Legendary live tribute festival GlastonBARRY returns to Barry this weekend, July 29 and 30 at Romilly Park, with 22 tribute bands and acts playing over two days. The festival also includes street food, stalls, big screens, DJs and a bar!

We went down to Romilly Park this week and can assure you the festival is on no matter the weather, with the famous blue and white GlastonBARRY tent erected and ready to rock!

Tribute headliners at this year’s event include Oasis, Coldplay, Elton John, Beyonce and more.

Organisers say ticket sales began slow, but the event is now practically sold out with as many as 7,000 music lovers descending on the park.

Organisers say the festival has had a revamp this year, with an improved food court, and more stalls and workshops on offer, and they have no concerns about the unseasonably cold weather we have been experiencing, saying the famous British summer is what makes these festivals so special.

Organisers told us: “Of course the majority of our guests would prefer it if the sun was shining, but when it rains it does create an amazing atmosphere in the big top and gives it an authentic British festival feel!"

Organisers said no matter the weather, the event will not be spoiled.

“We’re lucky that we have the huge big top that can house the majority of our audience even if the weather is bad," they said.

“There are also a number of other sheltered areas throughout so that’s not too much of a concern.

“The whole festival has had a revamp this year, with an improved food court, and more stalls and workshops on offer - especially at the juniors event.

“It’s our ten year anniversary so we’ve gone all out on our biggest and best lineup of all time.

“Rain or shine, it’ll be a great show and we can’t wait to welcome you all to Romilly Park.”

GlastonBARRY runs Saturday and Sunday, July 29 and 30 at Romilly Park. Are you going? Send us your pictures when you’re there to either the Barry and District Facebook page, or email
