PHOTOS show the destruction after a car flipped on road in the early hours of Sunday morning.

At 4am, residents of St Pauls Avenue, Barry, were abruptly woken from their lie-ins and now, photos show exactly what woke them up.

Shocking pictures show a car on its roof in the middle of the street.

Another photo shows cars dented and damaged.

A man has been charged over the incident, which occurred on July 30.

South Wales Police say Mason Brandon Lee Rashid, 20, from Rumney, has been charged with failing to provide a specimen for analysis and is due to appear at Cardiff Magistrates’ Court on September 5.

Fire crews from Barry and Ely Fire Station attended the scene along with police receiving a stop message at approximately 4.30am.

A Welsh Ambulance Service spokesperson said the ambulance service did receive a call about the incident, however they were subsequently stood down.
