Meanwhile, Staff and Pupils at St Cyres School celebrated the best set of GCSE results for the second year running.

The GCSE results, follow the school's first record-breaking A-level results last week.

Headteacher Paul Lewis said: "I am delighted with the achievements of our pupils and delighted that they have had an opportunity to show what they are capable of through this examination series.

"These results are the culmination of many years of hard work and our Year 11 pupils have approached these examinations with maturity, resilience and a determination to succeed.

"These are exactly the qualities that these young people need to be successful, and which will equip them well for their bright futures ahead, many of them starting in St Cyres 6th Form in September.

"These results also reflect the dedication of all our teachers and wider staff at the school in supporting our young people in achieving their very best’.
