BELLE Vue Community Centre revealed its newly upgraded facilities.

Work to revamp the building began in June last year with the old pavilion demolished before construction began on a new modern replacement.

Friends of Belle Vue Park, a local group that invested in the location, and the bowls club that is based there have been heavily involved in the project, which was partly funded by the national lottery.

The community centre has three large rooms, which are available for hire, a kitchen, male and female changing rooms, and a fully accessible changing space for disabled users.

The Vale now has three changing spaces available, including those at Cosmeston Country Park and Barry Island.

These facilities have been equipped with an accessible toilet, shower, hoist, and plinth, making them accessible to individuals with additional needs.

Work to upgrade the nearby play area has also been completed and that includes a range of accessible equipment.

The Council's Big Fresh Catering Company will operate a café from the community centre site, building on the success of a similar operation at Penarth Pier Pavilion.

Cllr Lis Burnett, Leader of the Vale of Glamorgan Council said: “A lot of hard work has gone into transforming Belle Vue Pavilion into a modern space for the whole community to enjoy.

“It was great to see the new building, which we hope can be a real hub for the local area. I would invite anyone interested in possibly hiring the building for their activity to get in touch to see what it has to offer.

“There are different rooms available, and an on-site café offering high-quality drinks and snacks. The building is fully accessible and suitable for a range of different classes, meetings, and events.”

Anyone who is looking to hire rooms can arrange a viewing by emailing BelleVue@valeofglamorgan.gov.uk

Hire prices will start at around £20 per hour depending on the proposed use and the amount of space required.
