CHRISTMAS is fast approaching, and the fun is already starting in Penarth with many festive events taking place before the big day.

Here at the Penarth Times, we compiled a list of some of the top five events going on in the town centre.

Puss in Boots – Paget Room

Puss in Boots is the pantomime at the Paget Rooms in Penarth, and will be performed from Friday, December 1 until Sunday, December 3.

The show will start at 7.30 pm with tickets priced at £15 for adults and £12 for children under 16.

Festive Wreath Making – Penarth Pier Pavilion

On Wednesday, December 6, there will be a festive wreath-making evening at the Penarth Pier from 7pm until 9pm, tickets will be priced at £49.95.

Griffin Books will be hosting Christmas story reading with local author Laura Baker reading her book Monsters at Christmas.

The event will start at 10am.

Christmas Crime with Janice Hallett – Glamorganshire Golf Club

The popular Griffin Books Christmas crime night returns on Thursday, December 7, with mince pies and a festive reading of Janice Hallett's new book The Christmas Appeal.

Christmas Tree Festival – St Augustine Church

The annual Christmas tree festival returns to St Augustine Church on Saturday, December 9 from 11am until 5pm.

Radio play of Miracle of 34th Street – Penarth Pier Pavilion

After the sellout success of It’s a Wonderful Life Penarth’s Red Herring Theatre will return on Tuesday, December 12 until Thursday, December 14, with a live radio play of Miracle on 34th Street.

Tickets are priced between £10 - £12 with the show starting at 7.30pm.

Junior Christmas film and disco – Penarth Lawn Tennis Club

The lawn tennis club are hosting a movie afternoon on Sunday, December 17 with the showing of Elf, with pizza, popcorn and a Christmas treat.
