THE Little Match Girl is set to be performed at the Paget Rooms in Penarth this week.

The first performance of the Victorian Christmas fairytale by Danish poet Hans Christian Anderson was on Tuesday, December 12. It will run until Saturday, December 16.

The story is about a dying child's dreams and hope which was first published in 1845 and later adapted into a musical film in the 1980s.

Community interest company Pukka, from Barry, has been permitted by Keith Strachan, Leslie Stewart and Jeremy Paul to stage it.

Live professional musicians and a talented cast of performers from Penarth and Barry will stage it.

Tickets are available from: Little Match Girl Tickets | Pukka Productions
