AN independent holistic skincare company has branched out into its first premises.

When we visited Aesthetics 64 at their impressively chic, clean and upmarket skincare clinic we had pens at the ready to write down the latest and greatest treatments and deals on offer for the people of ‘perfect Penarth’, however Aesthetics 64 is very different.

Co-owners Sophie Aviles, 33, and Lucy Batey, 36, are registered nurses who still work for the NHS.

With that being said, Aesthetics 64 is providing a service that is intensely tailored and health-focused.

Both women are trained at administering popular beauty treatments such as fillers and vitamin injections, however they will not offer their services unless it really is in the best interest of the customer.

Ms Batey explained: “For us, it's about providing enhancements to patients in an ethical way.”

Mrs Aviles, wife of Jacques Aviles who owns popular gin bar Gin 64 across the road, said Aesthetics 64 was not about the standard facelift.

“We champion the natural look,” said Ms Aviles. “We enhance natural beauty and offer restorative aesthetics.

“Our approach is more natural, more ethical and more gentle.”

Gentle is certainly a word you could use to describe Aesthetics 64.

Everything about the new site is gentle, from the calming cream-coloured walls to the minimal décor and even plans for the parking.

Ms Batey and Mrs Aviles started the company from a rented room, however they outgrew the room and when the shop space on Station Approach became available, everything about it was right, even down to the distance to the car park – right next to the clinic so clients attending can come and go ‘discreetly’.

And what is the best advice the two skincare professionals can give the general public to improve their everyday skincare routine?

Well, in their tailored manner, Ms Batey and Mrs Aviles didn’t want to be too blasé, emphasising that everyone is different, but they did highly recommend people use SPF protection, even in winter.

Consultations are free. Treatments are administered by appointment only.

Aesthetics 64 is open Monday, Thursday and Friday and Wednesday evening.
