TICKETS are on public sale for one of Penarth’s favourite summer parties.
Around 1,300 revellers are expected to put on their dancing shoes for Penarth Lawn Tennis Club’s Music and Street Food Festival on Saturday, May 25.
This year’s headliner act are the sensational 7-piece Welsh covers band Rock The Mike who will be playing a wide range of floor fillers.
They’re supported by Penarth R&B band Smokey Smuthers and the Mellow Fellows,Welsh rockabilly band, The John Lewis Trio, the all-woman singing sensations, Three O’Clock Club and Neil Diamond tribute act Jeff Diamond.
Organiser Alan Cozens said: “We’re hoping to repeat the amazing success we have had over recent years. It’s always such a fabulous day, with a combination of great food and brilliant music.
“It’s a magical event with families picnicking on the grass in the afternoon and then hundreds of people dancing on the grass as the sun goes down.
“Since Covid we’ve sold out every year and I expect the remaining tickets will be snapped up very quickly.”
New food stalls include Roti Shack serving Malaysian delights and cakes from Lisa’s Crazy Bakes. Willmore’s will be returning with hot drinks.
Food vendors returning to the festival include the Welsh Italian Pizza Company, Ringo’s Dirty Diner, who sell burgers and hot dogs, and the Bearded Taco.
Mr Cozens added: “We think there will be something for everyone here with this range of musical styles.
“The same goes for the food where we have an international mix of vendors selling everything from burgers to Malaysian roti.”
There will be a number of bars across the site as well as a charity Pimm’s stall raising money for the club’s nominated charity, Motor Neurone Disease Association.
The event will run from 12.30pm until 8pm and is strictly advanced ticket only.
There will be no tickets for sale on the door.
Most of the tickets have already been sold to members of the town centre club, but some are now available to non-members through the club’s Ticketsource.com site.
Tickets are available costing £12 (£8 child under 16) at the club’s Ticketsource.com site from 8am today (Thursday May 2). Link, here: https://www.ticketsource.co.uk/whats-on/penarth/penarth-lawn-tennis-club.
