I was shocked and very disappointed to find that ALL, bar one, till at my local Tesco has now gone over to self-serve.

This totally removes customer choice or preference. The complaints at the tills were many, as were the queues.

You then, having expected your customers to do your job for you, have the audacity to stop selected clients and check their bags. Shopping is taking twice as long.

Put the people running around sorting out the mess, and your lack of trust in your customers, on the tills - problem solved and happy customers.

I had no objection to using 'self-serve' for very small top-up purchases, but will NOT be doing my big shop at any store where I'm expected to be the employee as well as the customer.

Therefore after 31 years since my Penarth store opened, I will no longer be doing anything but a 'damn-it' shop in the Penarth store. Shame!
