The third book in the Merlin Protheroe series has been published.

Author Robert Falconer, of Penarth, said: "After the success of my first two books about Merlin Protheroe, a private investigator based in Penarth, I have now published my third book in the series, unimaginatively titled, “A Third Set of Cases for Merlin Protheroe, P.I.”

The book is set in Penarth and contains 20 puzzling short stories about the private investigator.

Mr Falconer said: "Readers from the area should find plenty of places they recognise in the stories.

"The cases include a bookshop that suddenly disappears from the centre of Penarth (not Griffin Books, I should add!); an inept pair of burglars; a man who dreams he is going to die and almost does; and a killer brought to justice through his DNA."

The paperback is now available from Griffin Books in Penarth at £8.99.
