A graduate is set to appear on a reality TV show.
Rhodri, 21, from Penarth, will compete on Bar Hansh, a S4C series that follows six young Welsh people as they travel to Zante, Greece, to run a bar and compete for a £5,000 prize.
The contestants must work together to keep the bar running smoothly, but each week they must vote to sack one member of the team.
Rhodri, a sports science graduate from Swansea University, said: "There’s no Welsh bar on the strip in Zante so I feel really proud to put Wales on the map.
"I’m creative, confident and natural."
The group will be mentored by Ameer Davies-Rana, who will oversee their progress as they tackle the challenges of bar management in one of Europe’s busiest nightlife destinations.
The show will air on S4C at 9pm on October 24, and will also be available on S4C Clic and BBC iPlayer from the morning of the broadcast.
Following each episode, viewers can tune into the Codi’r Bar vodcast, hosted by Bala drag queen Actavia and a rotating line-up of guests, who will discuss all the behind-the-scenes drama from Zante.
Guto Rhun, S4C’s young audiences commissioner, said: "This original format shows that S4C can compete with fresh and exciting content.
"With colourful characters and their action-packed adventures abroad, the series is sure to grab audiences from the very first episode, as S4C opens the doors to Bar Hansh."
Rhodri isn’t the only contestant hoping to make his mark in Zante.
The cast includes Angharad, 23, an eyelash technician from Swansea who describes herself as "I’m chatty, I’m confident and just a girly girl all over."
Nel, 20, from Llanuwchllyn, is studying veterinary medicine at Harper Adams University and describes herself as "I’m just the most positive person in the world in any kind of situation and I know that can be annoying."
Ryan, 29, from Anglesey, owns a florist and events company and says: "I love telling people what to do – but if someone tells me what to do, there’ll be hell to pay."
Shay, 26, from Cardiff, is a supply teacher and performer who says he’d throw someone under a bus to win.
Shay said: "I can be really calm, or I can be a lot to deal with.
"Take me as I come – that’s what I tell everyone."
Tam, 25, from Llanllyfni, works as a bar manager in Caernarfon and describes herself as a 'party animal.'
Tam said: "I really don’t get on with fake people, people who try to put on a persona that’s literally not them just to impress others."
While each contestant brings their own personality and ambition to the show, only one will walk away with the £5,000 prize and the title of Bar Hansh champion.
