A Vale of Glamorgan theatre group has earned 28 award nominations for its standout performances.
Penarth Operatic and Dramatic Society (PODS) has been recognised by the Glamorgan Drama League in the annual Glammie Awards.
The tally, focused on individual performance categories, does not yet include nominations for major categories such as director, presentation, musical director, choreographer and overall best drama and musical, which are still to be announced.
Peter Knowles, new chairperson of PODS, said: "Receiving 28 Glammie Award nominations for our 2025 productions is such an amazing achievement."

The nominations cap off a hugely successful year for PODS - the first in its new century - which concluded with a December sell-out run of the pantomime Aladdin and His Magic Lamp.
Among the nominated productions are ‘Allo, ‘Allo 2 – The Camembert Caper, Shrek the Musical, High School Musical and The Ghost Train.
In March, the Paget Rooms hosted the performance of the stage adaptation of the BBC sitcom ‘Allo ‘Allo. It received seven Glammie nominations.
PODyS, PODS’ youth group, earned seven nominations for its June production of High School Musical, while Shrek the Musical, staged in May, has picked up nine nominations, including three for youth members.
The Ghost Train, performed in October, received five nominations.
Winners, including those in the best production categories, will be announced at a ceremony on March 14.
Looking ahead to 2026, PODS will open the year with Dario Fo’s comedy Low Pay? Don’t Pay! in March.
This will be followed by the Queen and Ben Elton musical We Will Rock You in May.
In July, the youth section will stage Disney’s The Little Mermaid. More information and tickets for all of the shows can be booked through the Penarth Operatic and Dramatic Society website.
