Homes in Penarth and surrounding areas were left without electricity overnight due to a high voltage fault, National Grid Electricity Distribution has confirmed.

The power cut affected properties in the CF64 postcode area, with engineers attending the scene to restore supplies as quickly and safely as possible.

A spokesperson for National Grid Electricity Distribution said:

“Our engineers are restoring electricity supplies as quickly and safely as possible following a high voltage fault in Penarth overnight.
