Creative talent is taking centre stage across the Vale in a new season of public art events.
The recently formed Vale Arts Collective, established in September 2025 and made up of artists, makers, designers, and creatives living and working in the Vale of Glamorgan, is launching a series of events to connect the public with local talent.
Their debut Artists and Makers Fair will take place at Cowbridge Town Hall on Saturday, April 4, giving artists the chance to showcase and sell their work directly to visitors over the Easter weekend.
Michael Goode, a Barry-based artist and printmaker who is part of the collective, said: "It’s good to feel part of a wider network of artists and makers in the Vale, and for us to organise events, workshops, and exhibitions with other creative people during this year."
A Christmas fair will return to the same venue on Sunday, December 6, 2026, with space for 20 artists and makers at each event.

In June, the collective will host an Open Studios Trail, inviting the public into the studios, homes, and workshops of artists, sculptors, and makers.
The trail will run in Dinas Powys on June 6 and 7, and continue the following weekend in Penarth on June 13 and 14.
September will see the return of the Penarth Art Fair for its fourth edition, set in the iconic Penarth Pier Pavilion.
The three-day event will run from Friday, September 11 to Sunday, September 13, with space for 12 artists, collectives, or galleries.
Past editions have featured high-profile names such as Kooywood Gallery, Fountain Fine Art, Fireworks Studios, and Queen Street Gallery.
