1st Team - Welsh Cup Round 2: Dinas Powys 2 Risca & Gelli 1
RISCA started the game with the wind behind them and forced three corners in the first 15 minutes.
They continued to have the better of the game until the 31st minute when a Risca throw deep in their own half ended at the feet of Spencer Lamb who moved into the penalty area and shot across the keeper and into the far corner of the net to give Dinas the lead.
The second half started with Risca continuing to dominate but Lamb nearly doubled Dinas' lead when his attempted lob beat the crossbar as well as the keeper.
Risca finally got their reward when Lee Piotrowski's reckless challenge in the penalty area led to Ryan Thomas scoring from the penalty spot to level the scores.
When it looked as if the tie was going to extra time the ball broke to Gareth Hemmens on the edge of the six yard box and he made no mistake to give Dinas a fortuitous win and put them into the next round.
2nd Team - Welsh League Reserve Division East :
Caldicot 0 Dinas Powys 1
In a poor game Dinas came closest to scoring through Thomas Hamonet and Ali Kiyaga in the first half, but the teams went in at half time goalless. The second half was not much better than the first, the highlight coming when Jon Reeves, with only the keeper to beat, slid the ball underneath him and into the net to give Dinas a win without playing well.
