A PENARTH bowls club has raised £2,000 towards a new lifeboat for the town.

Penarth RNLI has been the chosen charity for Windsor Bowls Club's fundraising events over the past year, and this week the bowlers presented representatives of Penarth Lifeboat Station with a cheque for £2,000 - a massive boost for the wider fundraising activities for a new boat.

Eric Kendall, chairman of Penarth RNLI said: "Windsor Bowls Club has been very busy with raffles, barbecues and other events to raise this tremendous amount of money. We are delighted to accept the cheque and are grateful to all involved for their support."
