JOSIE AND THE PUSSYCATS (PG) is not a well-known film, yet it's out now to buy, boasting an all-star cast.

It centres on Josie (Rachael Leigh Cook, Antitrust), Melody (Tara Reid, American Pie) and Val (Rosario Dawson, Down to You), three teenage girls who have their own rock band, Josie and the Pussycats.

Desperate for fame, the girls agree to sign up with hotshot manager Wyatt Frame (Alan Cumming), who introduces them to MegaRecords CEO Fiona (Parker Posey) as the next best thing.

Within a few days they're at the top of the charts, but soon they realise they've been dragged into a rather sinister plot to control the youth of America.

This is quite a funny film, with a great soundtrack. Featuring extras such as deleted scenes, a featurette and more, it's a pretty good couple of hours of entertainment.
