Some of Penarth's female members were interviewed for the ITV Wales 6pm News recently, and the report can be seen via the District Website, Tesoro, Explorer Scout with the Les Pughs Own ESU, said: "We are getting chances to do thing that before we couldn't do, and we can join in with boys and have fun."

Holly, also an Explorer Scout, added: "It is good for everyone to be involved in all the activities, because it makes it much more integrated and widens your friendship circle."

Julian Jordan, District Commissioner for Penarth and District told ITV: "We encourage anyone to join. Scouting is for all – girls, boys, adults – there is a place in Scouting for everyone."
