ON SATURDAY, May 14, HRH the Duke of Gloucester attended the Annual Service of Commemoration, Rededication and Investiture at Llandaff Cathedral, Cardiff.
Among the St John Ambulance personnel being Invested was Penarth resident Lt Col Caroline Whittaker, who received the Order of St John Admission as an Officer.
Last year Caroline headed up a team of St John volunteers in Zambia, where they taught a record number of people lifesaving first aid skills.
Caroline is a lecturer in Occupational Health and a Lt Col in the Territorial Army, serving in Bosnia, Iraq (2003) and Afghanistan (2010-2011).
She has just returned from Afghanistan and was also decorated by HRH The Queen in recognition of her role in Iraq in 2003.
