CLARICE Hepworth, a resident at Penarth's Ty Dewi Sant, celebrated her 101st birthday with a visit from Town Mayor Cllr Anthony Ernest, on Friday afternoon, September 30.
Clarice was born in 1910 and has spent her whole life living and working in Penarth. One of three sisters, she has six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
Educated at St Joseph's, she particularly enjoys walking, crochet and knitting.
Cllr Ernest said: "Clarice is an incredibly sprightly lady who does not show her 101 years at all.
"She thoroughly enjoyed her birthday and had a constant stream of friends, well-wishers and family dropping in throughout the day.
"I was delighted to have been part of the celebrations, and thanks to the very friendly and caring staff at Ty Dewi Sant who also helped make Clarice’s day one to remember."
