THE UK government are asking for councils to take part in research into driverless car technology.
I sugggest that this would be a great opportunity for Penarth Town Council and/or Vale of Glamorgan Council to take part in this research. Millions of pounds is being spent by governments, car manufacturers and universities around the world and the jobs being created are high tech and well paid.
I think that the geography of the Vale towns and the nearness of good universities make this area a good one for the development of such work. We need well paid jobs in the private sector, jobs in which decisions are made locally and are accountable locally.
